Atychiphobia…

“Atychiphobia ( Fear of failure ), is an intense fear of failure. It may cause you to put off or avoid any activity or scenario that has the potential for an unsuccessful outcome. “

Have you ever been anxious thinking about the future ?

I do, all the time. It’s mostly at a time in my life when I get to the age where I think too much. Like, what job do I do? Will I succeed in this job? Will I succeed in my studies? 

What if I can’t figure out what I’m gonna do? 

If I fail, will I disappoint my parents?

These questions run through my head all day long. Now I know what I want to do but I still have this fear of not succeeding. 

When I have a bad grade, I have this feeling of failure that makes me feel guilty for not having studied enough. 

Some people think it’s an exaggeration to get into this state because of school but it’s not just that.  It is the disappointment of ourselves and our loved ones who expect a lot from us.

 I have to succeed to help my family and this is so important to me.

So when I have a bad grade, all of that comes into play for me, for many of us…

I can put myself in unhealthy states because of stress, fear of failure, fear of not succeeding and fear of disappointing. 

But today I want to change that!

We have to change that. It is not healthy at all and stress will not help the future to go the way we want.

It’s not like you’re stressing on purpose and feeling that fear. But you can get better by thinking about the future. 

Here are some tips that I recommend to you ( and recommend myself ), to no longer feel this fear of failure.

  1.  First, do not see the negative in the future, it is not by thinking bad things that the future would be better. On the contrary, by putting these things in your head, you will attract the wrong things. 
  2. I think we should not limit ourselves to one future. If you don’t succeed in this or that job, it means that it was not for us and in this case there are still many things you can do, life does not stop at a single failure.
  3. You need to have self-confidence, not put yourself in the way of negative thoughts. 
  4. And finally focus on your goal of succeeding not on the fear of not succeeding. If you focus on your goal you will find ways to get there while if you focus on this fear of not succeeding it would do you no good.

I would like to be able to advise you even more on this subject but I am still in the improvement phase too and it is really these advice that helped me.
