Hey my sweet strawberries !!! š
In this article, Iāll share my best tips for studying law. Thereās so much to read and memorize…
But with the advice Iām going to give you, youāll find a routine that works and is almost enjoyable.
1ļøā£ Plan ahead
Spread out your study sessions over several days using an app (like Notion Calendar or Structured) or simply your planner. Planning ahead helps you focus on the most important subjects first.
š Give priority to the topics that are harder for you or have bigger importance in exams. Balance your study time with your break time so you donāt feel exhausted or burned out.
2ļøā£ Organize your materials
Sort your lessons by subject, date, and theme. Use different colored highlighters to show how important each part is, and connect ideas that go together.
š Key court cases and big legal principles are usually the main part of exams, so make sure they stand out in your revision notes.
3ļøā£ Make smart revision notes
Donāt copy the whole lesson ! Make one note per idea you want to remember. Using color and diagrams makes things easier to memorize.
š” And donāt just write notes : play quiz games, use flashcards (like Quizlet), or explain the lesson out loud. If you can explain it clearly, it means you understand it and thatās the best way to remember !
4ļøā£ Understand before memorizing
Learning by heart without understanding wonāt help much. Try to understand what the lesson is about so you can really master it. Asking “why” helps you see the legal meaning behind things.
š§ Practice with real-life situations and case studies. Studying in groups can also help, a friend might explain something more simply, and you can teach them too. That way, you learn together and the conversations stick in your mind.
š§ Use online resources like law podcasts or YouTube videos, some explanations are much easier to follow there. If you learn best by listening, thatās perfect for you.
Finally⦠train yourself like itās exam day
Look for old exam papers and try doing them as if you were really in the test. Thatāll help you find out what youāre good at and what needs more practice.
ā±ļø Try the Pomodoro technique : study for 45 minutes with no distractions, then take a 15 minute break. Repeat the cycle four times.
For me, itās way more effective than studying for hours without stopping. Using spaced repetition helps keep knowledge in your long-term memory, so donāt skip it !
Thatās all for this little article ! I hope these tips help you for the new school year thatās coming fast. And most of all, donāt let study stress overwhelm you, make time for yourself too.
